Scholarship in memory of educator.(Capital Region)(Obituary)

ALBANY - A scholarship in memory of pioneering African-American educator Marian Hughes will be formally announced this evening at a fund-raiser in the rotunda of Albany City Hall.

The Black Women's Association of Albany is leading efforts to raise money to fund the scholarship in memory of Hughes, who died earlier this year of a heart attack at the age of 84.

The recipient of the scholarship will be announced at a later date. The fund-raiser will be held from 6 to 9 p.m.
